About the Farm |

GrayMist Farm is a diversified, award-winning dairy farm located in the scenic North Country, in the beautiful Connecticut River Valley. The Gray family has been farming here for over 26 years, and Gordon and Nancy take great pride in producing quality milk for consumers. All five of their children have worked on the farm in their growing-up years, and still come back from time to time to help out when they can. The farm consists of approximately 500 acres, 250 of which are tillable, on which the Grays’ grow about 100 acres of corn and 150 acres of alfalfa haylage and hay to feed the cows. The Gray family also sells bottled raw milk at the farm, and this summer has worked back into the vegetable business. Gordon and Nancy’s dairy herd of Holsteins number about 130, with about 70 milking cows, and 60 heifers of all ages – all of whom have names! Two years ago GrayMist Farm installed a DeLaval VMS robotic milking system, the first of its kind in the state of New Hampshire, where the cows can essentially milk themselves, and the herd has adapted very well to their new routine. Visitors are always welcome to check out this innovative way of milking cows! The farm has received its share of awards, as the Gray family takes great pride in maintaining a clean and attractive farmstead. Visitors are always welcome!
